Yakiniku Sauce by emimemo
Yakiniku : "Yaku / Yaki" means bake or fry and "Niku" means Meat in Japanese.
Yakiniku (Pulgogi in Korea) is usually barbecued on the grill or light fried in the pan.
I created this sauce for cooking competition at the Korean cultural center festival in LA.
So, it is original and it is different from other Yakiniku sauce.
Although I didn't win the competition, the lady from Korea complemented my sauce, so I am happy about it.
Ingredients
- Thin sliced beef 1 pound
- Chopped onion 10 tbs ( scallions are better )
- Sugar 3 tbs
- Sake 4 tbs
- Soy sauce 6 tbs
- Garlic 2 tbs
- Sesame Oil 2 tbs
- Ground sesame seeds 2 tbs
How to cook
- Mix sugar, sake, soy sauce, garlic ground sesame seeds in the bowl.
- Soak the beef in the sauce for a few hours. ( If you are in the hurry, you don't have to wait so long. When you use thin sliced beef, it is fast to get seasoned. )
- Pour sesame oil to the frying pan.
- Add sliced onions. ( If you are using scallions, add white part of them now and green part of them later to keep nice green color. )
- Fry with medium heat until all meat cooked and the sauce gets caramelised.
This meal is so simple and easy to make. Only 5 steps!
It is pretty good with white rice.
I proud of this sauce, please try it.
